The breast quest
I started my journey in Jan 2023,
it was a huge shock as I had no family history.
I was young at only 35, a mum with three small children and I had one of the most aggressive forms of breast cancer - triple negative.
Once I entered "cancer world" I met so many amazing, wonderful women and I was surprised at how young a lot of them were!
As I continued through my journey, I realised that many of the young women around me - the women at work, mother's group, school mums, friends, the list goes on - they are all so
unaware that breast cancer can affect them
...just like I was.
Breast cancer has always been seen as an older person's disease yet 3 women under 40 are diagnosed every day and 1 under 40 dies every week.
My new quest is to raise awareness and educate - in particular younger women - on being breast aware. Empowering all women to know their normal and the importance of self-checking.
Early detection saves lives!
This has become a passion of mine and I like to do it with a bit of fun because let's face it, life is already stressful, we don't need cancer to squash any more fun out of this world!
